Canterbury Cathedral evensong

Although I did not get any interest from other family members I was very happy to go to evensong at 5.30 on the Sunday in Canterbury Cathedral.

There are many memories there for me. My mother was a guide for about 50 years. I was baptised there. My sister Anne was married there in 1964. My mother had a funeral service there about 14 years ago. The Cathedral bell ringers rang a quarter peel after my mother died as she had been a campanologist. I had frequently attended evensong as part of the Canterbury Festival and in fact probably every time I have visited Canterbury during the years.

The choir was the men (lay clerks) but it was a pleasure to sit near them and also hear the new organ that has been installed in Canterbury Cathedral in the last few years.
